Empowered Supervision Intensive is an in-depth professional development experience for Speech Language Pathologists who want to move beyond knowing the requirements of supervision and intentionally examine how they communicate, lead, collaborate, respond, and create opportunities for professional growth within the SLP–SLPA relationship.

Across approximately 4.5 hours of self paced learning, you will move from instruction into structured reflection and application, examining not only what effective supervision requires, but how your own perspectives, decisions, systems, and leadership practices shape the supervisory experience.

This is not designed for quick completion.

It is designed for supervisors who are ready to learn, reflect, apply, and develop their practice.

Course Overview

Effective supervision requires more than knowing what the rules say.

It requires understanding how authority is exercised, how trust develops, how expectations are communicated, how feedback is delivered, how conflict is addressed, and how professional growth is supported over time.

Throughout Empowered Supervision Intensive, you will explore:

But the Intensive experience does not stop with understanding the concepts.

From Learning to Application

Throughout Modules 1 through 4, guided Reflection & Application activities invite you to examine the course concepts within the context of your own supervisory experiences and practices.

Your activities are brought together in the comprehensive Empowered Supervision Workbook & Action Plan, creating a resource you can revisit as your supervisory relationships evolve.

Then, in Module 5, you will move from reflection into intentional practice by considering what you can establish before circumstances force you to respond.

You will develop your own Empowered Supervision Action Plan focused on areas including clarity, authority and partnership, communication, feedback, conflict and repair, and professional growth and autonomy.

The goal is not simply to know more about supervision. It is to leave with greater clarity about how you want to practice it.

Course Length & Professional Development

Empowered Supervision Intensive provides approximately 4.5 hours of self paced professional development.

Successful completion of the full course provides 4.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and a Certificate of Completion documenting those hours.

Because this experience includes guided reflection and application, learners are not expected to complete the course in one sitting. You are encouraged to move through the modules at a pace that allows meaningful engagement with the instructional content and accompanying activities.

This course is not offered for ASHA CEUs and is not affiliated with or endorsed by ASHA.

Professional development and continuing competence requirements vary by state licensing board, employer, and credentialing organization. Participants are responsible for determining whether the course meets the requirements of the organization to which they intend to report their professional development hours.
