How to Self-Report Professional Development Hours: A Simple Guide for Support Personnel

A simple system for tracking your professional growth.

This resource is provided as a bonus educational training and does not qualify for Professional Development Hours (PDHs). No certificate is awarded for completion.

About the Training

Professional development is only valuable if you can accurately document and track the learning you've completed. Yet many support personnel are never taught how to organize certificates, maintain records, or prepare documentation for employers, state agencies, or professional development reviews.

This micro-training was created to simplify the process.

In this session, learners will explore the basics of self-reporting professional development hours, including what information should be documented, what records should be retained, and how to create a simple system for tracking learning throughout the year.

Whether your employer requires annual professional development documentation or you simply want to stay organized, this training provides practical guidance and a downloadable tracking tool to support your professional growth.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Identify the information that should be tracked for completed professional development activities
• Describe common documentation practices used by employers and professional organizations
• Develop a simple system for organizing certificates and training records
• Use a Professional Development Tracking Log to monitor completed learning activities throughout the year

This training includes a downloadable Professional Development Tracking Log and Certificate of Completion.
